how many fish can fit here ?

well a 5 gallon hex aquarium ............. oh and 2 or 4 small snails like really small fish like guppies or mickey mouse platties ???????????
 
For a 5 gallon, maybe 3 female bettas. Or 3-4 male fancy guppies. Female guppies have kids a lot so its best to keep males only.
 
in a 5 gallon hex, you can get away with 3 male guppies or male platies
but that's the limit for that tank

for the bottom, you should rather add some ghost shrimp or sherry shrimp then snails, as they produce less waste

3 of either one would max out the stock of this tank
 
If you want guppies or platties,2 of either, not both,and no snails.Snail produce a lot of waste and 5 gallons with fish just is not big enough.And also make sure you have the same sex fish,because both reproduce like bunnies. :)
A single betta is best in a 5 gallon tank,IMO.
