The NBA final continues until either the West champion or the East champion wins four games. (for example, WEWEWW means the west team win in six games.) How many different orders are possible if the final goes in 6 games?
I know the answer should be 20, because i had this same problem in another section of my hw except i had to write out all of the possible orders instead of calculating with either multiplication rule, permutation or combination. (he marked the problem correct so 20 should be right. but then again i dont really know seeing as i need some major help! ) i don't know which to use and i am absolutely no good with probability and need a lot of help. so please explain to me how i can simply calculate the number of different outcomes. i appreciate any aid to better understand probability!
