How many days a week should I work out at the gym?

I'm starting to go the gym again after a sort of hiatus. I'm not overweight, thin/average naturally. Getting a little doughy though if you know what I mean. So far I'm on my 3rd day in a row. I do pretty much the same thing every time I'm there. 30 minutes on the treadmill, 15 on the sitting bike, and 15 on the elliptical. Sometimes 30 on the sitting bike and no elliptical. I'm not trying to build muscle, because I naturally already am muscular...not really but kind of. ANYWAYS. Is it bad if I go 4 or 5 days in a row and than 2 days off (pilates tape maybe one of those days), or should I go gym.rest, gym, rest...etc. What is your workout routine? I don't want to stress out my body and want to get the most of my workouts.

I know nutrition is very important. You should meet my mom. Vegetarian, organic, health nut. I eat very well don't worry. I don't eat junk food and definitely don't eat fast food lol.
