How many books are in the Sookie Stackhouse series?

I'm thinking 8 or 9, like the person above me. Definitely check them out. They're fun, short reads and I enjoy them quite a lot.
 
If the series you are talking about is the true blood series, or souther vampires series, as they are referred to, I'm not sure of the exact number of books out at the moment; I believe it is 8 or 9. I definately recommend them though. I've just finished the first, Dead Until Dark, and was impressed. I'm about halfway through the second, Living Dead in Dallas, and have not been disappointed. Ms. Harris writes well, and the books are full of suspense and surprising twists.
