Our 1990 Dodge Dynasty LE with 3.3 AT and 130,000 plus miles gets 25-26 MPG, 15 miles to work, two lane road with 55 MPH speed limit. When I was traveling the interstate 17 miles one way, got pretty much the same mileage at 65 MPH.
The Dynasty I speak of and the '89 New Yorker are basically the same auto.
