How long?

I have just had my 6 month scan following spinal fusion of L4 and 5. I had a spondylolisthesis of L4 over L5.

I have a sacralised L5.

I was told that I would need further surgery in the future because of the mess at the base of my spine and the stress that will be placed on higher joints.

I was told the less I do the better.

Has anyone else had to have further fusions because of the `domino effect`? How long was it after the first fusion?

I had a single level fusion at L5-S1 in 2004.I got 6 yrs. out of mine before I need another fusion.Having a 2-level fusion at L3-S1 on the 17th of this month.
I want to add that the fusion I had in 2004 was successful. I have no problems with that fusion.
