well there are no roads leading in or out of nome!! In a Commercial jet I would think around 9 hours, in a car if you don't go on roads at least 3 days.

Hitchhiking is ILLEGAL in most states, and definitely on Interstate Highways. It would take as long as needed for the first cop to see you with your thumb up. Also you can NOT cross the international border into Canada without a passport.
