How long would he survive? Or would it probably not affect his life?

If a very strong 55 year old man is diagnosed with Stage 2 (meaning it was initially found with a DRE test) Prostate cancer, and it is localized in the form of a small growth in his prostate, how long would he survive?
Is this a 'cureable' stage?
Will he die from this or with this? Will it affect his life?
Thank you.
Please answer if you have experience with this or you are knowledgeable in this field.

Also, if you can answer this, what are the chances that having found a small irregularity in the prostate by means of a DRE check, that the biopsy results in a positive result (cancer)? When the doctor says that it is highly improbable but we should be absolutely sure, is he lying to make the patient feel better or does he really doubt it?
