...set up and having no evidence? A few days ago my boyfriend called me from jail saying he was set up by a woman who is known for smoking "crack". This person also takes care of our dog while we aren't around. Nevertheless, she somehow told the police he was distributing this drug to her and set up a time for him to come over. My boyfriend, thinking it was about the dog came over and gave her 10 dollars for taking care of her. As he was leaving, he was stopped by the police, who had been in contact with this woman and demanded to know where the money was that she had given him. All he had was 18 dollars with him and had no drugs on him whatsoever so he had no idea what they were talking about. The police ended up taking him to jail that day and he is still currently waiting for his court date, which is going to take another 4 days. What are the consequences of this supposed crime and is it right for the police to take somebody into custody for that long with no evidence?
