I have a red devil in a 45 gallon fish tank. But I have to move so I would need to put it in a little fish bowl for a few days. How long can I leave him in the fish bowl until I get my new place and fish tank up and running?

Try to get a fish bowl thats a bit larger than normal. Give him as much room as possible (although its temporary, dont throw him into something where he would have problems moving around) I would say get an air pump for him, just a small, 5 dollar one would do. Only keep him in there as needed. Plan out the moving of your fishtank so you can get it done as quickly as possible. I wouldnt keep him in there for more than 2-3 days if it can be avoided. Might be necessary to skip his feedings while hes in there though, so the water wont become tainted as quickly.

You will need to do probably daily water changes. It can live a few days in there but try to make it as less stress full as possible since you are going to dramatically reduce its swimming space

Nix the fish bowl....to go walmart or sheetz and get a Styrofoam cooler. They are much bigger then a bowl and will give more room. Get a battery operated aerator....or keep one plugged in as much as possible, and try and do a small water change at least every other day.

Use the same tank water and throw in a few hand fulls of the gravel this will slow down the setback on the nitrate cycle that could kill the fish (ammonia poisoning) and since its getting cold, fill a water bottle with warm water to try and keep the temp steady. It could live like that for at least a week or two as long as you don't let the water quality get bad.
