How long will it take to get to mars from earth?

Well, my teacher will give me 5 pionts if anyone tells me what is the distance from earth to mars. I know the A.U. thing which is about 140 million miles from us. Also how long to get from Mars to Earth?? please, thanks!
If you were going 200 miles/hour... how long will it take you??
 
Minimum distance between earth and mars is ~34,000,000 miles. If you are traveling 200 mph the whole way there it would take 34,000,000/200=170,000 hours
170,000/24 hours = ~7083 days
7083 days/365 = ~19.5 years

That's not how long it would take to mars if we sent a human there because we would send him at a much faster speed. It would still takes several months nonetheless.

About 2.218 AU (it's virtually on the opposite side of the sun as we are).

That's over 200 million miles.

At 200 mph, you'd get there in about a million hours. over 11,000 years.

Of course, in that time frame, Mars would complete several thousand orbits... so you'd better calculate where it will be when you get there, and head out in *that* direction, instead of where it is now....
