It is not the act so much, as the intent and circumstances..
f you intentionally shoot someone, even if you miss, it is attempted murder.
If you shoot someone because of carelessness or negligence, it would be manslaughter.
If you shoot someone because you believe your life is in danger, and that belief is reasonable, it is self defense.
