How long were you in labor witih your first baby, my sister in law is in labor right

now? her water broke about an hour and something ago and shes having chaotic contractions, this is her first, a little girl, irina ...shes gained under 40 lbs, so im curious how long her labor might be....how long was your labor with ur first?
 
It could be anywhere for an hour to over 24 hours. It's up to how well she dilated and if they are any complications. My labor was only 12 hours.

My sister was in labor for six hours. Hope the little one is fantastically cute!
 
There's no way to tell. I was very athletic all through my pregnancy, I gained 26lbs, and it took me 20 hours of labor and almost 4 hours of pushing. My sister gained 70lbs and her labor lasted 3 hours. Everyone is different.
 
28 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing

I was induced due to pre-eclampsia and wasn't dilated or anything. My body was not ready to have the baby. That's why it took me so long. But you don't have much of a choice when your blood pressure is 158/109 and rising!! It hit 160/110 when I was pushing.
