I accidently stabbed myself in the shin cutting zip ties off exercise equipment. It was a very sharp but only about 2 or 3 inch knife and I think it only went about an inch in. I've been cleaning it and dressing it with sterile gauze and antibiotic for 2 days now and I was just wondering if I should keep treating it this way. I'm hesitant to leave it uncovered or just with a band-aid over it since it is such a deep wound but the antibiotic seems to be preventing scabbing. All I could find on Google was initial treatment, nothing long term. Thanks.
