how long to cook a 5llb shoulder of lamb medium rare ?

I have a 5 llb shoulder of lamb. we like it medium rare.
How long to cook it and at what temp in overn ?
Would you slow cook it or fast roast ?
Please help with details

I'd pre heat the oven to max temp,put the lamb in for 20 mins at max then reduce the temp to 180 and leave for another 2hrs, check with a skewer or sharp knife, as soon as the juices run clear it'll be done,good luck
 
Better if you do slow cook, keep an eye for lamb roasting, make sure it doe not burn. It take 2 - 3 hours. Depend on your oven... Put a stick inside the lamb to check it is cooked (if the stick is clean) is fine, if not maybe wait bit longer.
