For starters, I have been married for almost two years and we were planning to wait on kids until I got my degree and moved into a home. I have taken birth control regularly since before we were married. Recently, I decided it was best to visit a good doctor due to some family health problems that I could have inherited. However, I didn't have insurance so I decided to apply. I had been visiting my local health dept. for check ups etc.
It was during this time that my prescription for birth control ran out. We decided it was best not to have sex for a while. So, my insurance card came in and I scheduled an appointment [not until July 17th!]. So, Saturday we decided it would be alright to have sex as long as we were careful and used a condom.
I was on top, and as I moved off him the condom must have slipped and spilled. I don't think any sperm got inside, but I'm not sure. I removed the condom immediately and cleaned off. I called all my local pharmacists to try and locate one that carried Plan B. I couldn't find any near me!
So.. now I'm just worried and curious about how long I should wait to take a pregnancy test. This happened to a friend of mine once, and she said she didn't get pregnant. I just can't help but be concerned. My periods are not regular without birthcontrol, so I doubt that will be much help... Thank you for your help.
Oh! I switched from the pill about 3 months ago and had been using NuvaRing >.< I wanted to try it, and I know that it is effective within 7 days of inserting it. Does this mean it leaves your system just as fast? Also, it took 3 weeks for my insurance to go through. So, roughly I have been off birth control for a month.
Thank you so much for your answers!
