...burn off? So I bought a recumbent exercise bike last week and am really enjoying it. However, I have no idea how long I should be on it or how many calories I should be trying to burn.

The reason I want to know this is because I bought this bike to help me lose weight. I'm 5'8 and roughly 200 lb. Based on this, what should I be aiming for on my bike?

I try to use it, overall, for about an hour and a half to two hours each day (usually for about 30 minutes at a time), and I've noticed that according to my bike, I seem to be doing 300-400 calories per day. Should this be what I am aiming for? More? Less?

And if it means anything, I almost only drink water now since getting my bike, and I try to keep my eating to be fairly healthy.

The amount of time you're riding is fine...if you're eating healthy and keeping your calorie intake under control then you should be seeing some weight loss soon.

Add some strength training to your workout plan if you want to burn even more calories...as the more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism.

Good luck and enjoy your bike!
