I've been on spiro for about 2 months now. I started off with a daily dose of 100mg then had that bumped up to 200mg and now I am currently just taking 150mg. I am defnitely less oily and the acne on my cheeks have gone down considerably but I am not 100% clear. Some days there are improvement and other days there are flare-ups so progress doesn't seem to be consistent. I'm wondering though if my condition will get better over time or if this is the best it will be? I'm starting to consider accutane again ... I've already been through 2 rounRAB but it was the best thing that ever happened to me and my persistent acne.

I have been on a spiroloactone for about 4 months now and my skin is still not clear. at the moment it is very dry, and new pimples are still forming. i think there has been a little improvement, but it's hard to tell, and it seems like i am more sensitive now and getting more acne scars.

how long until you were clear on spiro? i would really appreciate responses because im getting worried!

What dosage are you on? I've been taking 100mg for a little over a month and my skin is almost completely cleared up. I still get a pimple every now and then but it's nothing like it used to be. I've heard it can take up to 6-8 months or longer in some cases to show an improvement. Hang in there! :)

Hang in there!!! Although 2 months seems like a REALLY long time, I really think you should stick it out for a couple more months. I didn't start noticing a decrease in acne until about 3 months, and wasn't completely clearing until about 6-8 months. good luck!

I'm taking 75mg a day, but for the last few days i have been alternating 100 and 75 (i haven't talked to my doctor about this, but i've been so frustrated that i wanted to try it out.) I don't want to take any more medication than is necessary, but do you think i should talk to my doctor adn start doing 100 everyday?

I have been on Spiro 75 mg for about 10 months. I noticed improvements right away but the change became even more noticeable when I added 5,000 mg vitamin 5 per day about 5 months ago. Also, a few months ago I started using the most amazing lotion, it’s called MaMa .My face is completely oil free from this lotion and it has other benefits as well - acne scars ,age spots ,blackheaRAB and even fine wrinkles are diminished .

I think the usual dosage is 100mg, but I know of some women who take more and some who take less. It couldn't hurt to ask your Dr. to up the dosage.

I've been on 100mg for 65 days, and have broken out with a small cyst today :-(

I really really hope its going to clear up, my skin is definately less oily... But I have not had a 'miricle' clear-up since I started.. sigh..

I was wondering if you all took your spiro in one pill daily? My doc has me take 3 25mg 3 times a day plus yasmin bc. Im wondering how far apart I should take them cause I hate takeing them late in the day because I wake up at night to pee! I want to just take them all at once early in the day and get it over with. I seem to forget to take them cause I have to space them out. Just wondering how you all do it? Thanks

Wow..what a hassle! I take 200 mg, and my doc said I could either take it all at once or split it into 2 doses. I take it all at once with lunch and haven't had any problems whatsoever (i've been on it for over 1 year now with amazing results).

I take 100mg and take them all at once. I used to take them one in the morning and one at night but I would often forget. I didn't notice any difference once I started taking them all at once.
