how long on meds

i am taking ativan 3 times a day i try not to take it all the time,because i dont want to become dependant.but if i dont take it i feel empty and jittery inside,feel like i alway need a deep breath or yawn.any advise
 
Don't take it 3x a day, only when needed. If you feel anxious to the point you need relief then take it. It may be hard at first but it will become better. Benzos do develop tolerance and if you have been taking lorazapam for a while DO NOT stop taking them. Seek the advice of a doctor to taper you off of it because you can develop status epilepticis - a life threatening condition due to suddent withdrawel.
