How long is too long to wait to have sex?

I've been dating someone for almost 4 months. We're both in our 30's & get along well. Some of my girlfriends think there is something wrong & think the relationship is going nowhere because we have only kissed.

Is it unfair of my friends to think this way or do they have a point?
