For a guy who is 18 years old and he is just leaving highshool and going after he graduates during the summer to take military boot camp, how long would he be away from home for?
I neeeeeed an accurate answer please.

You will only get an accurate answer when you say which branch of service he is joining up in and

As far as being away from home plan on it being his entire contract unless he takes leave and comes home to visit because more then likely he will not get assigned anywhere near his current residency

If he is joining the army then about ten weeks, Marines are around 12 weeks and i am not sure about the other branches.

I think his MOS will also be a factor, because from what i have read MP's dont get leave after bootcamp they go straight into their MOS training

It depends on what branch and what job he chooses. I'm an Army Infantryman so I did 16 weeks in Fort Benning, Georgia. I also did One Station Unit Training which is Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training combined.
