how long for nexium to start working I have intermittent nausea and vomiting, sometimes weeks apart, sometimes days apart. My doctor prescribed Nexium 3 days ago. When should I expect to feel better?

If you're still not seeing any relief you may need to talk to your doc again about this. the nexium alone does not help my nausea, i also have been prescribed liquid carafate which also comes in a pill form.

i also take spearmint tums.

Hope you find some relief

It can take several days for Nexium to start working, and up to 3 months for it to allow your esophagus to heal.

Did your doctor prescribe it because he believes the nausea is the result of acid reflux?

I found it helped me in about 2 weeks, but it probably depenRAB on what you are being treated for. I have mild gastritis, mild reflux and a small hiatal hernia. I was told to take a double dose, 40mg a day for 2 months and then to cut back to 20mg a day. The Doctor said it takes about 2 months for the inflamation to heal.
