boot camp? he went yesterday and i wrote him today so when should i expect his reply....and do postal services be open on weekends??:(
i miss him so damn much!!

I'm a military brat and i've dated a buttload of those dudes... it's very tiring.

I give you props for your PATIENCE GIRLY!!!** Patience, breathe.

I can tell you right now that he may or may not start right away. If he doesn't start the camp right away, then he may get the letter before camp starts and be able to instantly respond. Otherwise, if it's the first week of camp, it'll be about a week before he can respond or even read. Some recruiters hold the mail all week until Sunday... Otherwise, the best day to reply IS SUNDAY. Which means, more than likely he'll send you about 1 letter a week. If you had been married, he may have been allowed a phone call too, but i'm not sure about that one.

Expect 1 letter a week, maybe 1 every two. They get more lenient after about 4-5 weeks.

If you send it 'regular ground" then it's normally 3-5 days. If you send it priority mail (2-day, 3-day, overnight) then it will get there quicker. BUT... just because you get it there quick does not mean he's going to have the time or the energy to write back quickly. Chances are he's going to be existed for a while. Be patient, and you'd better get used to it... he's a military man now. If you're going to be a military wife... you'll have to get used to this life.

The post office is open Mon - Sat. They are always closed on Sunday and holidays!

Your fiancee should receive your letter in about 2-4 days...Mail sent to troops in training is delivered to a unit PO box and the mail is handed out to each individual...It is the highlight of the day!!..I believe that hand-written letters are so much more meaningful because someone took the time and effort to compose it and drop the letter in a mailbox.

While he is in training, try not to expect too much from him since he will be very busy trying to adjust to military life...You have the toughest job - never letting him forget how much he means to you.

All the best to both of you and God Bless you.
