It takes a little while. I have had babies red wag platies for probably two months now and they only just reached about an inch in length. I would say it probably take another 2 or 3 months until they are the same as their parents and able to reproduce themselves.
So around 4 to 5 months old is when they are sexually mature and around their full size.
