How long does it take for a UTI to develop. Can it be just a few hours?
OK so I've been in the hospital two times this past week for a different problem. They tested my urine to rule out any kidney problems and did a culture on it (yesterday at noon). They found some blood in the urine and something else (bilirubin I think?) But they said that the amounts were very little and not very concerning.
Fast forward to yesterday night, it suddenly burns when I pee and I feel like I have to go a lot (when I don't). My sister gets frequent UTI's and gave me some Cranberry pills and Vitamin C to help, and the next morning the burning feeling was gone but it still feels like I constantly have to pee.
The urine that they tested yesterday at noon (when I wasn't having any UTI symptoms) came back normal.
I'm wondering if I could have developed a UTI after noon yesterday and felt symptoms that night (within 6 hours of leaving the hospital?) Should I go back to the ER and have them check for a UTI again if problems persist?
