How long does it take a bike shop to put on a brake lever and cable (BMX)?

It's a 5 minute job but that's assuming the shop drops everything just to serve you, unlikely as they'll be other bikes in the workshop getting fixed and what it they don't have the replacement parts and have to order them in from the suppliers.

You'll just have to ask the shop...
 
five minutes or just slightly more depending on the shop and who does it. this is not a hard fix at all.
