I just set up a 55 gal aquarium I have cleaned the rocks and decor, added my heater, filter, air pump and Water. To the water I did the water treatment and added some benificial bacteria. It had been 24 hours my water is not clear yet. How long should it take a tank that big to clear enough to put in fish. I was thinking I needed to wait atleast a week. I do have a water test kit and plan to test water in a few days. Is a week about right or should I wait longer?

You should let your tank cycle for three weeks. If you want to speed this up by a week, try mixing in water from an already cycled tank.

best is for a month if you cant wait 2 weeks should be good enough in the mean time add constant supply of bacteria to enhance the growth and take out ur nitrite and ammonia before adding fishes
