How long do I need to defrost frozen chicken breasts before I can cook them?

There was a ziploc bag of 2 boneless, skinless, chicken breasts in my freezer

I wanted to make a chicken dish (i still havent decided exactly what)

But I have the chicken still in the bag soaking in lukewarm water. How long do I need to have them in it? Or do they need to be totally soft? Or What?
