I went to a big car dealer almost a month ago. I traded in a car which still had a balance to pay off and for which I was making monthly payments. I called a week later and was told "you were approved through a certain bank and should get your statement and due date any day".
Till this day (26 days later) I have not gotten any documents from the "bank" and my old car has not been paid off (and August is still due!)
I called yesterday and was told that apparently the bank called them last week stating they could not verify my husband's employment and that his job told him he did not work there anymore. Not true! So, we went back and forth giving them good numbers to call to verify the employment.
I have a feeling they are having a hard time getting the loan approved under the terms we had. My question is, why would they take a week to tell me this, why is the car dealership (and not the bank) confirming his employment and do I have any rights? Or do I just wait until they "feel" like finishing the process? Is there not a number of days they should have to finish it up or just tell me to bring the car back?
