how long did accutane take you??

For those of you who have been on accutane, how long did it take to start noticing any difference? Ive heard some people have an initial break out but some don't...im going to be starting it next weekend so im trying to be prepared!!
 
My Son's dematologist put my son on strong antibiotics when he first started accutane. He said this helps a lot to keep you from breaking out when starting accutane. Appears he was right... no break-out for my son.

We noticed a difference in 4 weeks. He's been on accutane for 9 weeks now. His skin is looking a lot better. No problems or side effects... well he has two side effects: very chapped lips and a bit of ezema.

Make sure you stock up on the "vaseline" style lip balm... the waxy chapstic kind does not work as well.

I broke out horribly the entire time I was on it....didn't work for me. I despise Accutane :mad: :(
 
The first week was horrible. What was impressive though, the amount of breakout I had in the first week should have taken weeks to clear up. But it all cleared up in about 5 days and I haven't had acne since.

That was 1995! ;)

Hi - I am just finishing up 5 months, I has an intial breakout for the first two months or so if I recall correctly. It wasn't horrible but I definitely had more pimples. Then in month 3 I started to clear and clear quickly. My bro went on vaca for 1 month and couldn't believe how good my skin looked when he returned. It is totally clear now and I have no scars or large pores or anything - looks great. Hope it stays this way! Good luck. Maureen
 
I just took my first pill last night. my skin isnt too bad right now, best its been in a long time...so im hoping i dont break out too bad!!!
 
I took my first Accutane treatment in januari 1999 until june 1999. In 2 months I was pretty much clear. I didn't have an initial breakout, but I did have an occasional cystic-like lesion the first weeks. They disappeared very fast tho (few days).

Anyway, this is different for everyone.
