How long can a 18 year old go to Jail for trying to buy alcohol?

How long can a 18 year old go to Jail for trying to buy alcohol? I was trying to buy this poor man Mikes lemonade or something like that first I didn't know it was beer, then he said beer and I didn't really mean to say yes, and there was a shop Cop, and he said I can go to Jail for a year or pay 1000 dollars and I live in Ohio, I was wondering if that's the max, and I was wondering what is the least for both, and if I can do house arrest and maybe community service. Thanks. He rote me a pink slip and said he could take me to Jail now but didn't and he didn't even read me my rite. I go to Court Monday.
 
The least that can happen is the judge assess no punishment for the crime. That is unlikely, but technically possible. More likely, you will receive a fair amount of community service.


Not sure what "read me my rite" means. But if you mean "read you your rights" referring to a miranda warning, that is only necessary if the officer arrests you AND asks guilt seeking questions. Seems like he had all the evidence he needed without questioning you, so miranda is unnecessary
