HOW LONG BEFORE I CAN GO BACK TO THE GYM AFTER A FRACTURED FINGER?

I fractured my little finger about 2 weeks ago and i have had it in a splint since and gotta keep my splint on for another 2 weeks but after that im wondering how long it will be before i can go back to the gym .all the Doctor really said is u can use your hand again in 2 weeks but wil be fully recover in 8 to 12 weeks so i don't know what to do lol
