How long are the free apps free on a my touch 3g or any android phone?

Hi just bought a my touch 3g and love it and thought to myself how did i ever live without it, so i went to the android market and saw all these great free apps but thought there must be some type of catch so i was wondering are these apps realy free or do u have to pay after a month.
 
theres no catch! thats why you just get the FREE apps, i have this phone too and thought the same thing you did how did i live without it! have fun!
