I've been on the pill for almost 2 years and I'm 16. me and my boyfriend have been having unprotected sex for a while now and in the past I would wait a week before taking my inactive pill to get my period Nd make sure I'm not pregnant. but I want to know if it's safe to take my inactive pills the day after he ejaculates in me or how long I should wait??

Um, so are you taking the 3 weeks of active pills, one each day? That is what is most important. If I were you I would just take one pill each day because that is what you are supposed to do.

I'm kind of confused about what you're doing. Are you saying that you're worried that if you have sex on the day you take pill # 21 you can get pregnant because you take the inactive pill on the next day.

If that IS what you're worried about, you should not be worried. If you take every pill at the same time each day (on the correct day) you should not get pregnant.

Also, getting your period isn't really a valid pregnancy test. Most women still get their period the first month or so that they are pregnant. Some women get their period for many months into a pregnancy. The pill doesn't work on a day to day basis, it only works if you take it every day because it builds up your hormone levels.

Please read up on birth control or ask your doctor how it works.

Wow, what a crying shame you have been on the pill since you were 14, unbelievable. What is this world coming to. Anyway, he should still be wearing a condom for both of your protection from std's

how about this..ur 16 relationships dont last forever at all at that age so i recommend you just use a condom....boys cheat, hard to believe when yu love them but they cheat they lie and yu dont want to be on here later asking about vagisil so use a condom and those inactive pills dont work thats why im 16 weeks pregnant now!!

take the birth control like you are supposed to. dont try to alternate or make alterations to the doctors instruction. and to mark, birth control isnt only used for sexual contact. its also used to regulate menstrual cycles and lighten cramps and bleeding. so dont judge her! you dont know her case!

If I understood your question correctly, you wait a week before taking your inactive pills. You mean you take all of the active pills and then wait a week before taking the inactive pills, so you are off the active pills for two weeks between taking the active pills. When you take the pills, you are supposed to take a pill every day, either an active one or an inactive one. Most have 21 active pills and 7 inactive ones. Your period would happen during the 7 inactive pills. It is safe to take a pill every day whether he ejaculates in you or not.

hope this helps..
