How is the PS3 contending with PC, graphics wise?

I've never been the first to have cutting edge anything, so I don't have a ps3 nor a top-of-the-line gaming computer. So, how do ps3 graphics compare to PC graphics?
 
Considering that the 360 graphics are better than ps3 currently the question should be how is the 360 contending with PC.
 
is that because developers haven't taken advantage of the ps3's hardware, or is the 360's hardware superior?

If the 360 is really better, then how's it comparing to pc games?

You could buy a $600 graphics card or you can buy a PS3. Seeing as game distributors have basically abandoned the PC, the console is the way to go. Sure you're not going to be playing at 2048x1900, but at 1080i it'll be good enough. Exactly how many frames per second do you think that native resolution LCD 2048x1900 is going to be? About 10 fps?
 
Direct X 10 + Nvida 8800 GTX > ANY CONSOL.

I have a ps3 and its really good soo far and will only get better with better games and new software, but Direct X 10 is going a step ahead.
 
fuck PC gaming, no matter what you buy it will be obsolete in a year. I fucking upgraded to a 7900GT last year and now this directx10 shit comes out
 
DX10 takes away a TON of the overhead that is in current PC games. DX10 will be amazing.
