Well, I'm Muslim and I like to know about different religions specially Christianity, so I got this question while I was reading about Prophet Ibrahim, or Abraham, in the Quran. I really want to know what the bible says about Abraham and his life...
In Islam, prophet Ibrahim is known as "The Father of the Prophets". He had his wife Sarah, who didn't have children, then he married another woman, Hajar. Hajar got a son named Ismael, and later Sarah got a child who is Isaac. Isaac's child was the Prophet Ya'qoob (Jacob) who's child, Yusuf (Joseph), was also a prophet. On the other hand, in Islam, Prophet Ismael is one of the ancestors of Prophet Muhammed. Of course his story is much longer, but this is the part I want to know about...
So in addition to my question I want to know if there's any similarity in Christianity with what I mentioned (of course not the part about Prophet Muhammed because he came after Jesus Christ)..
I'm just asking a question out of curiosity, so please... no need for any rude answers...
Thanks
This story is similar in Islam, but it was that he kept dreaming every night that he was killing his son, Ismael, until he realized it was an order from God. He told his son about this, and his son gave up to God's will and told his father to do what he was ordered to do. Of course, neither the father nor the son were happy about this. And in the last moment God sent a sheep to Ibrahim to slaughter instead of his son.
@ Chris: my question is not about that at all; I was just asking about something. No need for all what you said about Islam, because I was NEVER to say anything bad about Christianity.
@ Joker: I'am a Muslim, but that doesn't mean I don't love Jesus Christ. I love Jesus Christ, and I believe in him and his mother Mariam (Mary)... I do appreciate all what he did and all what the other Prophets did, and believe me, I hate all those who stood against Jesus and wanted to get rid of him.
