Both of those examples are public services finances by taxpayer dollars. Yet, I don't hear people frequently argue against the existence of a public school system. Sure, those two are mainly run by states, but that is not a salient feature of the Obamacare debate.

scrap: That's semantics. I doubt that most Obama opponents would suddenly support Obamacare if it were a payroll tax of the same amount.
