I've been with my boyfriend for a very long time, and we have been wanting to get married, but have been afraid to do so because of financial fears. We are both college students, and I'm not asking for anyone to dissuade me from getting married. That's not the question. What I want to know is, considering the fact that I will still be on my parents' health insurance after marriage due to my father's job, would getting married hurt or help the cost of college? I know that it can get both my boyfriend and I maximum FAFSA, but will our scholarships (academic based) be taken away? Is there any fee charged or any other scholarships we'll be available for? I just need to know EXACTLY what's going to happen before we make any further plans.
