How is it that a Carfax & NMVTIS reports show no Unibody Damage on a vehicle, but

Honda Corp does? We were looking at a Honda Pilot that an independent deal purchased at an Auction. The dealer was honest with us in disclosing the vehicle has had unibody damage which shows up on the Honda Purchase slip he received. However, the Carfax reports, and all the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System reports all show completely clean with no damage or repairs reported.

How does this happen where the reports differ? And how can I find out the true extent of the damage on this vehicle?
