How is it possible to prevent someone from using my e-mail address as the "sender"...

...when they send me Spam? I sometimes receive Spam and my own e-mail address is
displayed as the "sender". I want to know how it is possible for someone to do that, and how can I prevent it from happening again.
 
Unfortunately you can't. People can use whatever from address they want and there's nothing you or I can do to stop them. It's a fault with how the email system was originally designed.

That said, you can set up a rule in Outlook Express or whatever other email package you're using to automatically delete such mail. In OE, for example, go to Tools > Message Rules > Mail and set a rule that whenever the incoming email address is [email protected] then delete. If you're using a free mail service like gmail you can still setup what's called a "filter". Simply follow the Create a Filter link at the top of the page.
