Hello there! Denim is a rugged cotton twill textile, in which the weft passes under two (twi- "double") or more warp fibers. Basically, is made out of cotton.
There are also two different categories of denim:
Dry denim
Is identified by its lack of a wash, or "fade". Dry or raw denim, as opposed to denim will generally fade and this is often considered desirable.
Selvage denim (also called selvedge denim) is a type of denim which forms a clean natural edge that does not unravel.
