How is boost mobiles service with a flashed phone?

I know that the HTC Evo phone can be flashed to boost but I was wondering how the service was with the phone. One person told me that the service was not good and they it would go in and out but that person didn't have a flashed phone. So for those that do have that kind of service can you tell me how it is and please let me know what state you are in so I can know if their is a difference between the area's. Also I am from California.
