I mean, it's not exactly hard to grab a shopping bag when I enter the store. I could walk around the store and fill it up then walk out the door without paying. Sometimes they don't even check for receipts. But they sure check to see if you have a plastic shopping bag.
Even if the legalistic mindless sheep at the front door WATCHES me pay at the cash register, and I show up at the door sans bag, all of a sudden he has to question me, "why didn't you get a bag?" Then he scoffs at me because now it means he "HAS" to scrutinize my entire cart. Why are people who don't like using paper or plastic shopping bags treated like criminals? I'm doing him a favor. It's easier to check a cart than inside a bunch of bags.
