how important are sat subject tests really to uc schools? what are my chances?

My SAT score was decent (1970) and my gpa is about 3.75 unweighted but I did pretty bad on the subject tests (Lit-680, US History-570).
However, I have a lot of extracurriculars and community service and I think my essays were good.
What are my chances of getting into UCSD or UCLA?

If you got accepted, what kind of scores/grades/essays did you have?
 
first of all, UC weight pretty heavily on GPA, SAT I and II.
But your extracurricular still count.

I had a 4.8 GPA, 2390 SAT I, 800 SAT Math level 2, 800 SAT Chemistry, 800 SAT Chinese, 790 SAT U.S. History, 800 SAT Biology.
I was also officer of 6 clubs and presidents for 2. I won four awards at state level and one at international.
I got accepted into all the UCs.
