Not hard. You have to remove the wheel. Remove the tie rod end. Remove the ball joint from the sterring knuckle. THen remove the axle bolt (rent the socket at the autopart store). The half-shaft should come out of the steering knuckle/wheel bearing. Next pry the other end of the half shaft out of the transmission.
You'll have the half-shaft cv joint assembly out of the car. By a rebouilt assembly for $85.
