I'm in negotations for getting a '78 Trans Am which is a dream car of mine, or rather that body style is. My only problem with the car is that it has a cowl hood and I love shaker hoods. It has a 400 in it right now, but I will likely put a 455 in it. My question is this, will the same shaker assembly work for both engines? Will the same hood itself work for a shaker on either engine? Or will the engines sit differently enough in the car that it moves the shaker forward or backward and neccesitate another hood? Never messed with shakers before, so I'd really like some advice.
How hard is it install a shaker hood on a 78 Trans Am?
