How Good Is The Human Memory?

We all have bad memory like when your mom tells you to brush your teeth you wash your wands. Or If your going to take a show you take out a pair of socks instead of an underwear. Why do we do that? The human Brain is can do lots of things. It created Cars, Electricity and Ect. But why is it that the Memory of the brain doesn't function as well as the other parts of the brain?
