im 14 and i ride a crf80f its a good bike but i feel like im falling behind from everyone else i have a jump at my house and it is 41ft is that good or bad
Im 14 and Ride a CRF250R, I jump up to 110ft. But a CRF80 is tiny and not made for jumping. You are falling behind because of your bike. You need a 85cc 2 Stroke, 150cc 4 stroke, 125cc 2 stroke or a 250cc four stroke to be jumping any further. Im surprised a CRF80 can jump 40ft.
Well it really depends on when you and your friends started riding. If it wasn't that long ago I would keep practicing and of course you'll get better. Just don't give up!
Don't worry too much about what others are doing -- concentrate on what you feel is comfortable. Jumping an 80 that far is pretty good.
I think I was jumping a 60ft tabletop w/ a CR125 when I was 15 or so. If you ride as much as I did, you'll make that no problem w/in the year.
Again -- just jump what's comfortable -- you'll know when you're ready to go bigger. The worst thing you can do is to watch your friends jump something bigger and then attempt it when you're not ready. That's how people get hurt -- and if you're hurt, you aren't riding...which is the real bummer. Set your own pace and stick to it.
Well I don't blame you as I wouldnt let anyone jump a crf80f that far anyway as the bike is not made for it.
Get a better bike and then it will be better able to take the jumping you intend to do. Age has nothing to do with it and I know my son was racing supercross at the same age, but he was on a cr85 which was set up for jumping.
