How far can I see with a 10 powered telescope?

Its for my project and I cant find it ANYWHERE on the internet...yes, I know, shocking....=D
i don't have a telescope...i just want to know...well, i don't know. something along the lines of: for every 10 powers, you can see 50 feet (i really don't know anything about telescopes >.< dumb Galileo Project)
 
how far have you looked with it?

you should be able to see a couple of million light years (m31). hell, i can do that naked-eye...
 
You can see the Andromeda Galaxy which is about 2million light years away with out any telescope So distance is not a factor at all

Telescopes collect more light than your eyes
It resolves two near by objects which your eye can not do
It magnifies objects.
These are functions of telescope.
