I have a kayak that can fit through my trunk most of the way with my back seats folded down. I'm able to secure it inside with a rope but I can only push it up so far and some of the kayak still sticks out of the trunk. Is there a maximum length that an object can stick out of the trunk in the state of Texas? I've searched through the DPS database and couldn't find anything and other sources yield different laws for different states. Also, if I need a red flag, does it have to be anything special? Or can I just tie an old red shirt to the back. Thanks!
